The Difference is a UK education charity working to improve outcomes for children and young people who are most at risk of exclusion from school. Its mission is to ensure that every child can thrive in mainstream education by helping schools create more inclusive cultures, systems and practices. The organisation works with school leaders, trusts, local authorities and national policymakers to reduce exclusions, improve attendance and strengthen support for pupils with additional needs. Through leadership development programmes, consultancy, research and partnerships, The Difference helps education leaders build evidence-informed approaches to inclusion, behaviour, internal alternative provision and, more recently, inclusion bases. It also plays an active role in shaping national policy, working to influence organisations including the Department for Education and Ofsted. By combining practical school improvement with system-wide collaboration, The Difference aims to create lasting change that enables more children to remain engaged in learning, experience a sense of belonging and achieve positive educational and life outcomes.

English Speaking Union

Exhibitor & Session Sponsor (Madani School)

The English Speaking Union is a charity with a mission to equip young people with the communication and critical thinking skills they need to thrive and build a more collaborative world. Through our delivery of oracy training workshops for teachers and students, and through our globally renowned national and international oracy and debating competitions, we reach over 100,000 young people each year. By helping these young people to discover their voices and the agency they can have, we are shaping a world where individuals, communities and ultimately nations can engage via civil, reasoned debate, and work together to address our shared challenges. The ESU and our work are needed today more than ever.

NAHT is the UK’s largest professional trade union for school leaders. We are a politically independent organisation representing more than 38,000 head teachers, executive heads, CEOs, deputy and assistant heads, vice principals and school business leaders. Our members work across the early years, primary, special and secondary schools; independent schools; sixth form and FE colleges; outdoor education centres; pupil referral units; social services establishments and other educational settings. In addition to the representation, advice and training that we provide for existing school leaders, we also support, develop and represent the school leaders of the future through the middle leadership section of our union. We use our voice at the highest levels of government to influence policy for the benefit of leaders and learners everywhere.
